This is a Herend bud vase in the Apponyi Chinese Bouquet rust pattern, featuring stylised peonies, encased by garlands! The gold gilding on the fluted rim and base is 24K and reflects beautifully against the orangey tones of the flowers.
Made in Hungary by the famous Herend company, founded in the 19th century, these pieces are still highly collectible today!
This piece is from the 1990s, but the Apponyi flower concept was originally created in 1930 for Count Albert Apponyi. The pattern is one of the most desired Herend designs!
